The Flying Samaritans is an on-campus organization at the University of California, Irvine that is committed to facilitating the service efforts of The Flying Samaritans, Inc., a registered non-profit corporation. The primary purpose of the organization is to provide health care for the indigent people of Mexico. Student, physicians, physician assistants, dentists, nurses, optometrists, pilots and other caring volunteers, from many different states, travel monthly to medical clinics throughout Mexico to provide free health care to people who would otherwise have none. Due to the close proximity of the El Testerazo Clinic to UCI, our group is able to drive, rather than fly, to our designated facility.

Our purpose is to provide health care to people living in the rural areas outside of Tecate, Mexico. Once a month, we open the El Testerazo Clinic, located 30 miles southeast of Tecate, Baja California. By assisting in administrating, translating, and taking vital signs, our members get the opportunity to experience medicine and another culture first hand. As a member, you may also experience the satisfaction that comes from an increased cultural awareness and a sense of teamwork through active participation.
