Hey everyone! This coming Wednesday, February 24, is Anteater Bite! An awesomely delicious food festival showdown/ showcase on Ring Road. Come let Flying Sams feed your hungry bellies till they explode with delight! We will be selling NUTELLA BANANA WONTONS, served with fresh BERRY COULIS. Yum yum Yum. Come and get them while they are fresh and hot, from 11:00 till whenever we sell out (and trust us, it will be quick)! They will be $3.00 for 4 delicious, crispy, steaming hot, ooey, gooey, wontons. Hello all you Sammers out there! GET EXCITED! We will be having our Week 8 Meeting this Wednesday, February 24th at 5:00 pm in HSLH 100. At this meeting, we will be having a SPECIAL EVENT SPEAKER – Dr. Mark Rosen! If you don’t know him already from attending our clinic trips, this is a great way to get to know our resident physician, who helps the people at our El Testerazo clinic every single month. Come get to know Dr. Rosen and listen to his amazingly interesting stories, whether it be from his days helping out at the clinic or his days aiding others in need during the Cold War. Hope to see you all there

Looking for somewhere to volunteer? The UCI arboretum will be having a winter bulb festival Saturday, March 6, and Sunday, March 7. They need volunteers on Saturday from 12pm-4:30pm and Sunday from 10am-2pm to tend some of the plants and staff the plant sale holding area. It’s part of the Disney “Give a day get a day” program, so if you volunteer on either day you’ll get a FREE ticket to Disneyland! If you’re interested please contact Camille Ferrer by Saturday the 20th at community@flyingsams.com. Thanks guys and goodluck with midterms!

Applications are now available! The application deadline is Saturday, February 20th, 2010 by 11:59 PM – NO EXCEPTIONS. Interviews will be taking place during Week 8, February 22 – 28, 2010. Hi Sammers,

Hopefully midterms are going well for everybody. In our week 6 meeting, we will be having speed socializing and committee announcements. In addition to the general meeting, we will be having an a member appreciation after-event with FREE KOREAN BBQ. The location will announced during the meeting so be sure to attend! As always, please join committee facebook groups (located on our main group page) to stay informed about committee activities and if you know any health care professionals who might be willing to volunteer or know others that might be interested, please contact one of the officers.
